RCD Access & Awareness Forum – June 3, 2010

The RCD hosted an “Access & Awareness Forum” on June 3, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Richmond City Hall Council Chamber to recognize and celebrate the 2010 National Access Awareness Week. The purpose of the Forum was to showcase all we had done together and would do in the future to increase inclusion, accessibility and full participation. It was also a perfect opportunity to reflect on current accessibility issues and focused on what we could do to ensure an inclusive and barrier-free community.

We had invited 5 presenters to talk about different aspects of accessibility related to daily life of people with disabilities, and there were more than 50 delegates joined us at the Forum and the Round Table Discussion afterwards. The event was also well represented by service providers, voluntary organizations, government representatives and officials.
